Florida is #1 For Take-Home Pay- Move to the Sunshine State of Florida
South Florida is tied with 5 other metro areas for first place in residents taking home the most amount of money from their paychecks.
South Florida does not have city taxes and state income taxes.
For one person earning $40,000 annual salary, the take home pay is $32,886.00. While I believe that near $8,000 taken out each year is still too much- this is a great reason to move to South Florida. The Miami/Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County areas are attracting permanent resident home buyers and 'second home' buyers because of our low taxes, beautiful beaches and great weather.
The other areas that tied with South Florida are Orlando, Tampa, Dallas, Houston and Seattle for metro areas. This is because none of these big cities have state or city income taxes.
